It’s pizza night! Tonight we made homemade, rather than spending a gazillion dollars at our local pizza place. It was so easy & crazy good. Not to mention, it’s so much less expensive & a lot less fattening doing it ourselves.

I love to make my own pizza crust. When I do, I use Giada’s recipe HERE. It’s easy, super good & has the perfect crusty/ chewy texture that a pizza should have. Sometimes, though, I’ll buy a prepared pizza crust. They are also really tasty & the perfect crusty/chewiness that you expect in a freshly baked pie.

The nice thing about these prepared crusts is that they come with their own sauce. Delicious!!

Tonight I made two pizzas. One had turkey pepperoni & the other had these sliced chicken sausages on it. HOLY COW if you can find these in the grocery store, GET THEM. You won’t regret it!! So so so so so so good!!

Preheat the oven to 450. Spread the sauce over each pizza crust, going all the way to the edge & making sure it’s as even as possible.

Then spread the freshly grated mozzarella over the top of the sauce, again going all the way to the edge & getting it as even as possible.

Add the meats on top of the cheese. Then to take it one step further, add a little bit of fresh parmesan over the top of the ingredients. A little goes a long way, so not much is needed.

Bake at 450 directly on the center rack for 10-12 minutes, or until desired doneness. I set these two pizzas side by side to bake at the same time. Side note: if you have a lot of ingredients, occasionally you might have some cheese drip off the side of the crust while it’s baking. To prevent the oven from excess smoking & also from you having to clean up a terribly burnt mess later, leave a sheet of foil (that’s as wide as the rack itself) on the bottom-most rack in the oven. That way if/when the cheese drips, it will land on the foil & be much easier to clean up.

Ingredients

  • 2 Prepared pizza crusts with sauce
  • 2 Chicken sausages, sliced
  • 2-3 cups Freshly shredded mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup Freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup Turkey pepperoni

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 450.  Spread the sauce evenly over each crust, going all the way to the edge.
  • Spread 1/2 the shredded mozzarella evenly over each pizza, going all the way to the edge.
  • Add the ingredients of choice, using one meat for each pizza.
  • Lightly sprinkle the top of each pizza with fresh parmesan.
  • Carefully place the pizzas side by side directly on the center rack.  Bake at 450 for 12 minutes, or until desired doneness.

Notes

Add a piece of foil (that’s the same size as the oven rack) to the bottom rack when baking the pizza so that any cheese that drips during cooking will be land on the foil instead of landing on the bottom of the oven for easier clean up.
